Okay...so I was in class and we were talking about how schools should approach helping the homeless. We (my classmates and I) had talked about how some children live in cars, shelters etc. Although, its a very sad and depressing topic, answer the following questions about schools helping or not helping the homeless. Take your time and really think deeply about how you'll answer each question:
1. If a teacher finds out that there is a homeless child in their classroom, what actions do you think the teacher should take...if any at all?
2. Should a teacher consult the principal of the school in a private conference explaining what he/she has just lear regularned? Would that scare the child's family away?
3. When resources are offered to a child's family through a school, why do you personally think that so many families turn down the hands rHoweaching out towards them?
4. Do you think there should be schools specifically designed for children who are homeless?
5. Do you think that schools should have a washing machine and a dryer for staff to use (with parents permission) to wash children's clothing that become soiled or dirty? Not necessarily just for the children who are homeless, but for maybe the child who had an accident at school or even for families who cannot afford to have their clothing washed on a regular basis...?
6. Besides a washing machine and dryer available to the school staff to use, what are some other possible offers that schools could provide to children's families who are poor and/or homeless?
7. Are there any questions that I had missed that you think should've been added? Put them as number seven.
8. Do you know of any resources in your area that help the homeless? If so, put them as number 8. Please include the area that the resource is offered and the phone number so that
